Natural construction site

Many initiatives - one objective

The ascertainment of rare species and natural milieus  proves it: the Nature Park High Venn - Eifel offer an exceptional biodiversity! The presence of keystone species like the black grouse in High Venn or the pearl mussel in the Our-valley are just two examples.

Nevertheless are many species and natural milieus threatened by past  or current activities. The negative effects on ecology are, in both cases, sometimes unintentional and due to the employees' ignorance of ecological balance.

For this reason leads the Nature Park's team since 10 years big renaturation projects of natural milieus which shelter  threatened habitats and species.

The elaboration of an ecological network allows to establish links between core zones (for example: nature reserves) using ecological corridors (ex.: hedges, rivers,...). The exchange between different populations of one specie would be  favored, which augments his chance of survival.
