There was an important fire in the "Hautes Fagnes" on Monday 25th April 2011. The "Fagne des Deux Séries" and the "Fagne Wallonne" are damaged - about 1100 ha. have burned.
For security reasons, the area at the east side of Baraque Michel is forbidden for an undetermined period. However, the following places are still open (west side): "Fagne de la Poleûr", "Fagne du Neûr Lowé", "La Vecquée" and the "Podium of Botrange".
